Biography
Matthew Le Blanc (born December 21st, 1983 in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada) is an independent electronic artist who produces “Video Game Dance Music†under the name SynthR. Falling in love with dance music in the early 90’s and longing to write his own, Matthew began his career in 1997 using Propellerheads’ Rebirth software. Later he transferred over to Fruityloops Studio in 2001 and Propellerheads’ Reason 3.0 in 2006 which he still presently uses.
Matthew has met with moderate success gaining local and commercial air play on the likes of McMaster University Radio and CBC Radio 3. He has also had his work featured in an issue of Terapia Musical, a Brazilian therapeutic magazine that features a full length CD comprised of various artists each release. Using the internet as a backbone for promotion, Matthew passionately attempts to widen his fan base through the use of websites and song writing competitions by offering free downloads of his work. At the moment there are no albums released by SynthR.
As an independent artist, SynthR’s music is sometimes considered raw and unpolished which can be attributed to not having funding for studio equipment or studio services. However, Matthew Le Blanc strives to take SynthR to the next level by utilizing his creativity, musical understanding and aspiration to do something different in hopes of writing songs that are uniquely danceable.
Aside from writing original music SynthR also performs his own themed Trance and Progressive mix sets, simultaneously fusing them with samples from his collection.
Equipment
All songs are written using Reason 3.0, Fruityloops or Rebirth. Other programs used include Adobe Audition and T-Racks. No studio equipment or professional mastering of any kind are utilized.
