About Me

I was born in Beaumont, Tx and was raised by a loving, musical family. My uncle and my dad got me playing guitar when i was around five or six years old. Ever since i can remember, music has captured my senses.By highschool i was playing in bands and jamming as much as possible. My first band that i joined was Vintage Dreams with Mike Ward, Jacob Johnson, Matt Watson and the late Mike Kaminski. They're the ones who really got me into the electric guitar and various other scandelous activities.(my first Marlboro red experience is one that comes to mind) We loved the 90's grunge era and i think we learned most of the catalogue to go with it, as well as writing original material that sounded like...lets see um.... the 90's grunge era. Man we were some greasy ass kids.... By the end of high school i knew music was my path. I played around town in various bands....Redshift, Ryan Gist, Grass(on occassion) and some solo performances. I was having a blast with my friends but Beaumont just wasn't doing it for me anymore as a cultural city. I needed to see some real shit. I needed to see hell on earth. So around 2002 i decided to move to Los Angeles and attend Musicians Institute.I learned so much about music theory, different stylings and groove. It took me awhile for it all to sink in mainly because i had to take everything that i thought i knew and throw it out the window. Relearning is a bitch but it pays off. The biggest lesson that i've learned by far is that ego and overthinking have no place in music. Play from the soul and everything will shine.I've met so many killer players and teachers from the school. Luckily i've had the fortune of playing in bands and recording projects with some of these guys and gals. My buddy and fellow student Jack Ruch has givin' me many a lessons in the blues and tone. I fucking love that kid, very knowledgable in vintage instruments and his family lets me rent there house. After guitar playing school, i attended the Guitar Craft Academy to learn about the construction and the repairing of guitars. That landed me a job as a guitar tech at Schecter Guitars. A multi-million dollar guitar company. Unfortunately im not making millions yet.... but it pays the bills so i can rock evenings and weekends.I am currently playing and writing music in Black Moon Dog. I also have my solo music in the works and various other projects rollin'. Keeping busy always!!!!
