Handbag House

About Me

Based loosely on music from the UK's commercial club scene, Handbag House started off as two 45-minute mixes to fit on either side of a cassette tape for two friends who really appreciated the music in a bar in Newcastle called Switch - so they could listen in their cars. The Handbag House series grew in popularity with clubbers who are into up-to-date commercial house, dance remixes of pop and R&B tracks and the odd old-skool track, too. The series is even often played in bars by DJs before they start their own sets, including tracks and remixes that have yet to be released and the almost 'bootleg'-style of mixing has also proved to maintain the interest.Camp, fun, dancable and singalongable, it's not supposed to be taken seriously but it's great for sticking on when getting ready to go out to get you into the mood!Iain Macleod
