I was born Charles Hardin Holley in Lubbock, Texas on September 7, 1935 to L.O. and Ella Holley. I always loved music, and eventually with the help of a few of my friends formed a band. We called ourselves "The Crickets". We toured together for a couple years, then I went on my own because they got tired of it. My career and my life both ended suddenly on a snowy night in Clear Lake Iowa. The plane I had chartered to take me, and a couple others to the next town went down, and killed us all. We still live through our music!
