Crystal Zagarello, flutist, 25, received her Masters in Music Performance from Purchase Conservatory of Music in 2008 and her Bachelors from the Crane School of Music in 2005. She has studied primarily with Kenneth Andrews (2001-2006) and Tara Helen O’Connor (2006-present) and has participated in masterclasses with Mindy Kauffman, Joanna G’froerer, Pinkas Zuckerman, and Hubert Laws.
Crystal received honorable mention in the Music Teacher’s National Association Competition (New York State, Woodwind Division, 2005) and the Great Neck Youth Competition (2000), and received third place in the Long Island Philharmonic Youth Competition (2000). Crystal is winner of Purchase College Conservatory’s 2006-2007 Concerto Competition. Her professional performing ensembles include or have included Northern Symphonic Winds (2002-2006), The Orchestra of Northern New York (2005-2006), Eastern Festival Symphony Orchestra (2006), and Ensemble du Monde (2006). She is currently working towards her Artist Diploma at Purchase College Conservatory of Music.
