Well, I'm a 21 year old BA (Hons) fashion design graduate, who wants to live in Japan :)
My new and up-coming clothing label it will be starting soonish (needs some money first... hehe) but this a page where you can see my previous University collections and if you like anything drop me a line I am happy to re-make things for people.
My current collection is called Grotesque Carnival and uses a lot of leather. I see leather as a second skin in this collection, and how in carnival everything is upside down, not right just for one day.
It is based on traditional Spanish carnivals and a theory by Bakhtin
Each outfit comes with a hand made hat which our similar to earmuffs and have feathers coming out of the circles.
Previous collections have been based on taking inspiration from other designers work and developing it further. I have made a dress based around Bugs and the designer Theirry Mulgar.
I have also done a mini collection that focused on tartan and was linked with Alexander Mcqueen for inspiration.
In my second year I speciallised in knitwear. For this part of the course we had to design and make a garment based on a theme. My theme was called Pandemic and focused on disease so i tried to make knitting that perhaps seemed alive, and took bruises, blood and the human body as my colour pallet. This was a piece i really enjoyed making.
