Once he clutched that plastic guitar at age 3, Ben Ingraham could never let go. The Rochester, New York native has been strumming to his own beat ever since. Barely 20, he has already written hundreds of pop/rock based songs that have been met with applause on both coasts. With his warm tenor voice and his fresh, original melodies, Ingraham delivers - whether playing keyboards or guitar.
Ingraham's creative sound was obvious in high school, where he received a prestigious award for a piece that he wrote, arranged, and performed with the school's 170 member full choir at a multi-state competition. Before graduation, he also wrote and recorded two CDs of original music with his band, Free Air.
In 2003-2004 he attended the acclaimed Berklee College of Music in Boston. Ingraham immediately jumped into the coffeehouse circuit, playing regularly around town. After a year at Berklee, with a yearning for sunnier skies, Ingraham packed up his Subaru and headed west to California. Arriving in San Diego in October 2004, Ingraham dived headfirst into the music scene. Shows at several local venues led to a feature in the San Diego Union Tribune and an appearance on the KUSI-TV morning news.
Now, with nearly a decade of songwriting under his belt Ingraham is primed to continue singing his heart out in San Diego and beyond. His message is sweet and fresh, and will come to you via solo, duos, or full-band ensembles. So watch out! He's still too young to play in some clubs, but is sure to play his way into your hearts.
