The Eddie Haskell Experience

About Me

The Fabulous 80's! Fender skirts, hula-hoops, and everybody liked Ike. And emerging from the wreckage of the legendary Dogs / Lumbertones scene (which was the TRUE birth of "Grunge", except they weren't on drugs or in Seattle), John Cook started home recording and touring with his little machines.
What an idiot. This was the ONLY person who ever used the Roland TB-303 the way it was designed - a bass machine. Boom-pah, boom-pah .... Oh Lord. Europeans and druggies world wide were spinning the knobs and creating techno stuff that I guess is called "Acid". You still hear it. It's awesome. Same machines. Aw' screw them. The Eddie Haskell Experience could still make a room GET SPASTIC .
All was going well until Cook abandoned The Experience and his solo career and joined this "supergroup" in a cynical effort to sell out. This proved to be a critical and finacial disaster. After a near deadly reaction to the extensive makeup, poison ivy, and several relatives going into the witness protection program (there is a little known "Shame" provision), he retreated to the furthest reaches of nowhere.
Today, the Eddie Haskell Experience lives on. At least in a little studio in a place you never heard of.

Oh, please don't forget to check out my old tune Detroit Iron, awesomely recorded by honest to goodness legend Jimmy Thackery (& The Drivers) . I don't think it can be posted here, because it's still for sale on both Sinner Street and The Essential Jimmy Thackery and Jimmy Thackery Live!. It's also on iTunes. If you Google some combination of "Detroit Iron", Thackery, and/or "John Cook" you can get some pretty cool reviews - some from faraway lands.

Influences: Don't you hate it when musicians site really hip influences? "Oh, I live for Django! And I wore out my Charlie Parker collection." Then you see them play and out comes the lighter fluid ...
If you know me, you are sick of my influences and I'm sick of making myself sound old.
Awww.... OK. This is just too cool:

"Stretched Tendons"????

It looks like I stretched some tendons.  It got real weak right about where a wrist watch would be. Do any old guitar players have any non-scary advice on whether to stretch or strengthen?  ...
