Victor McCRAY

Mr. Victor McCray earned the nickname, “Speedy”, as he fought his way through the professional ranks as a world rated boxer and former Olympic trainee. Being quick with his hands and feet, he used this God given talent as a foundation to “grab hold” to the vision that God has placed within him.He began reaching out to others in the late 1980’s while hosting the radio broadcast, “Freedom to Praise”, on KNON 89.3. Sharing the gospel through music came naturally for him. His broadcast was an inspiration to many and later opened doors for him to minister to thousands of Texas inmates.Mr. McCray’s burning desire to give has not been quenched. Being recognized in the city for his ability to gather young people, he serves as founder of say NO to drugs Resource Center in Dallas, Texas. This organization has been a venue whereby over 10,000 students from all over Texas have gathered for the “Battle of the High School Gospel Choirs”. The “Battle” is the grand finale of the 4-day say No to drugs music and arts fellowship conference of which great gospel leaders such as Edwin Hawkins, Bishop Walter Hawkins, Elder Timothy Wright, Kim Burrell, Minister Kirk Franklin, Tommye Young-West, and the late Rev.
