About Me

Dario Arcas was born in Neuquen (south of Argentina).
He..s considered one of the leading pioneers in the electronic music scene down south in Argentina, for his extreme professional dedication, his love for vinyl and his acclaimed parties.
Even though Dario as a child, remembers his father showing him Bee Gees, Donna Summer and Aretha Franklin tapes (while his close friends listened to Alan Parsons Proyect, Jean Michel Jarre and Kraftwerk) his DJing carrer began when he first met DJ Raul Garganta Gimenez. A man who made him explore the 70..s music influences into the 80..s electronic music that was just emerging.
And so, with Raul as his partner, they started a series of electronic music parties in their home town.
Around 1992/93, Dario is introduced into the hard house and vocal house sounds, coming out on various labels such as Strictly Rhytm, Ministry Of Sound, ZYX Records and Epic Records, and thus, broadening the musical horizon of style and sounds that never stopped growing.
Taking into account, that in the early 90..s the music was so broad and diverse, Dario used to play everything from Manchester indie music and pop, to his biggest influences such as Paul Oakenfold, Frankie Knuckles (he followed his career since the 80..s) and groups like Underworld, The Orb, The Shamen and Afrika Bambatta.
1994 was a turning point for Dario, as new big name producers and DJs emerged, such as David Morales, Danny Tenaglia and Junior Vazquez, and new labels such as Tribal America, Tribal UK, Mercury and Strictly Rhythm started releasing tribal house (in all it..s variants). He was instantly hooked.
In that same year, Dario and Raul put up one of Argentina..s biggest Open Air music festivals in the south, with 4000 attendants dancing for more than 7 hours, something unseen at that time. This party in particular, set the way for electronic music down south.
In 1996, acid house and trance emerged, and new names such as Dave Clarke, Victor Calderone, Arman Van Helden, Robbie Riviera, Sasha, John Digweed, Danny Tenaglia and Green Velvet became instant references.
The parties, that began with a small group of EDM followers, started growing considerably.
In 1997 he started a radio show called "Dimension Quatro" (still on air) to promote electronic music that he believed touched the emotions and senses of its listeners.
In 1998, Dario travels to New York (home of tribal), and comes back fascinated with the electronic music culture of the city.
Twisted America becomes one of the most important labels at the time, until in 1999, Bedrock Records drastically changes Dario..s music, getting him into progressive house, and the european house sound.
In 2000, Dario was full into progressive house. He got influenced by local star Hernan Cattáneo, and others such as John Digweed, Sasha, Max Graham, James Holden, Dave Seaman, Deep Dish (he..s been following them since 95), Sander Kleinenberg, Steve Lawler, Nick Warren, Timo Mass, Danny Howells, BT, Laurent Garnier and Satoshi Tomiie, and thus, his sound evolved with such interesting influences.
He also started a series of parties called "Groove Alta Patagonia" that where to continue until 2006, and defined the electronic music scene of his home town, where he shared booth with many DJs.
From 2005 on, his sound drifted into tech house, techno and minimal sounds, but with the right melody, groove and structure. This same year, saw Dario play at Creamfields Buenos Aires.
Nowadays, Dario embraces new sounds, as he did throughout his entire career, when playing out.
His most recent production "Alan Parsons Proyect - Voyager (Fefo + Dario Arcas first mix)" sums up his varied influences, and has been getting support from Hernan Cattáneo, martin garcia, MOS and Baunder among others.
