About Me
We're Bam Bam and Ariez. We're in our 40's, in our 22nd year of marriage, still very much in love and still "kids" at heart. We've been told we aren't your usual couple...We actually LIKE spending time with each other and when we're apart we're counting the minutes until we're together again. You'd think after all these years we'd be bored with one another but that hasn't happened!
Religion and Politics are the two taboo subjects so I figured I might as well put it out there:
Religion: We're Christian - before you stop reading past this point - we aren't the stereotypical image some people think of. We're proof you can have alot of fun, be unique, quirky, a little controversial, fun to be around and yet still be strong in faith. Can't tell you how many times we've had people ask surprisingly: "You guys are Christian!?!" There seems to be a nasty rumor going around that Christians are horrible people who think they are better than everyone else and aren't allowed to have any kind of fun. That's not the case with us. We're easy to get along with, leave the "judging" to the man upstairs and we don't demand you be Christian in order to be our friends. Faith is a choice - not something to be forced or it's not REAL.
Politics: We aren't die hard Republicans and we aren't Democrats - we go with whichever candidate we feel is best. Sometimes we agree, sometimes we don't. We did agree the best choice was Obama this time around.
We have a 17 year old daughter who makes every day a challenge and a definite test of wills! She definitely marches to the beat of her own drum! On the positive side, she's anti drug, smoking and drinking! We are SO proud of her for that. Then there's her "other" side which has put us through some very crazy moments! But because of those crazy times we've developed patience far beyond anything we thought possible, see the humor in life more and our hearts definitely get a cardio workout daily! Despite all the drama she's put us through - we wouldn't want to be without her. We focus on the positives as much as we possibly can or we'd go insane! Isn't love for your kids so CRAZY!?!
BamBam:
I'm an easy going guy with a laid back personality. I grew up in Hawaii. I'm an old fashioned, family oriented guy whos into my family, my faith and living a good life. My wife is unpredictable in a VERY good way. Our daughter almost always has drama going on and if there isn't any, she causes some. Between these two my life is always interesting and rarely routine but life is good for me. My family, good friends, grilled steaks, trips to the coast often, my drums and good music is pretty much all it takes to keep me happy!
I'm a percussionist. Drums, Timbales, Darbuka, Congas etc. I love all music and have played all genres except Country. I've played with several bands in town and jammed with alot of others. My favorite genres are Blues, Funk, Reggae and Latin.
Ariez:
I'm a short, plump, fiesty, passionate about life and love pulling pranks. I worked in investments at USAA, became a trained Behavioral Therapist and we became parents. I'm now primarily spoiling my family, concentrating on a couple of my hobbies and homeschooling our teen.
I'm old fashioned in alot of ways. One being I like having my man be the KING OF HIS CASTLE. Ladies...don't go planning my murder now....I'm talking about REAL men who will treat you like a QUEEN in return. Not abusive, macho attitude, think they are Gods gift to women - Those are BOYS. I'd rather have a fishing trip than a diamond, I'd rather ride a horse than in a limo and I'd rather get dirty doing something fun than be immaculately clean and play it safe. Routine drives me nuts! Don't get me wrong...I like quiet time every once in a blue moon, but more often it's the fast paced, spontaneous, intense times I crave. I like having fun - whether I'm chasing our daughter with water balloons or wrestling with my hubby trying to slap some handcuffs on him. Life's all about making memories and I don't want to waste any time!
I've been blessed with some really great friends. Some are waaaay too shy others plain psycho but I love them all! Each ones brings a little sumthin sumthin to our lives. Thanks guys - for having our backs when it was throw down time, for being my accomplices in the many pranks I've pulled, for being the voice of reason & wisdom when I wasn't thinking straight, through laughter so hard it made my side hurt, for keeping me safe through some really dumb dares and for loving my hubby and daughter as you do me! Muuuuuah!
