Now playing: SHAWDY ROCKThis talented young man by the nane of Shawdy Rock; Birth name Christopher Aaron Brathwaite, was born in Boston Massachusetts. Shawdy Rock moved to Decatur, Georgia in 1995 with his mother at the age of 5 where she raised him as a single parent.
He began to grow a passion for music as a toddler; his favorite songs were JUMP,JUMP by Kriss Kross and the JEOPARDY game show theme song. By the age of 7 attending Rainbow Elementary in the 2nd grade he often got in trouble for making beats with his pencil on the desk and teased because he pronounced his words so fluently in ways no other second grader could.
He received Honor Roll and the High Achievers Award in reading from 1st through 5th grade. Middle school came along and the high achieving declined slowly but surely, due to trials & tribulations he experienced.
Shawdy rock did just enough to get promoted to the next grade. By the time he reached 7th-8th grade he found himself falling off track, Hanging with the wrong crowds, attending Teen clubs, Smoking, Fighting for pointless reasons,nreceiving limitless female attention, Stealing cars, breaking into homes and schools, basically taking what he wanted from the world because his father wasn't there to teach him how to earn what he wanted and be a young man.
Even with a wonderful mother who sacrificed her teenage years to raise him alone the best way she could and tried her best to give him his hearts desires, he rebelled and felt he needed more. School became hard to focus on because at this point, his life was facing in a negative direction he never intended on going down. The more mistakes he made the more he learned from them.
At the age of 15, he began listening to local Decatur rap groups and admired their talent.
He caught wind of a program by the name of fruity loops 5 and cool edit pro 2.1. Shawdy Rock was always inquisitive and loved computers so he "BORROWED" these programs off the internet. Shawdy Rock had no microphone so he used a set of head phones to rap into and made his first song by the name of: "Steak and Shake!!"
'Like any other young artist he believed his music was the sh**.' He began back stealing cars and picking up his so-called homeboys to go to teen clubs like the Megaplex, Tylers, The Atrium, Golden Glide, and Decatur family skate just to get his music played and watch the crowds reaction. One night he got caught by Dekalb County Police driving to a performance; that helped put an end to his behavioral issues. He served a couple nights in RYDC detention center, 1 year probation, 80 hours of community service and subjected to random drug test.
Due to the trouble he endured he began to realized how important music was to him, and that he'd never be successful in the business world by making the wrong choices.
"Age 16 came and Shawdy Rock was back on track!!!"
He began making songs about things he did, wanted to do, or thought was cool." '9th grade he attended Southwest Dekalb High School where he instantly created a fan base and haters at the same time!!' Shawdy Rock was ecstatic by all the attention he received from his peers and fans; so felt obligated to continue makin hits for them.
'Through it all his mother supported him helping him realize this is what he was born to do!!!'
Now at the age of 17 Shawdy Rock is selling beats to local artist that 'dig' his style of music. 'Meanwhile working on RADIO PLAY & CLUB's he's finnessing his talent until the whole world knows about SHAWDY ROCK!!' Hes topped the charts of SOUNDCLICK with his smash hit "$$BETCHA CANT CALL ME BROKE$$"
Currently working on a Self-Made MixTape as You Read this...Shawdy Rock says he wont stop till he reaches the top and 'NO ONE' can get in the way of his DESTINY to BE SUCCESSFUL!MUSIC IS WHAT I DO, IM A BORN STAR JUST LIKE MOMMA SAID!!!
