About Me

Vaclav is the solo project of Vaclav Michael Vanek Carrera, who has maintained a more or less consistent presence in Southern California’s electronic and industrial scenes for the past decade, first appearing with the industrial black metal outfit Lathander in 1997. Since Lathander’s break up in 1999, Vaclav has performed as a solo artist, performing IDM shows with his laptop and promoting Los Angeles/west coast-area IDM events with such performers as Venetian Snares and Hrvatski as well as running Nentech, his own independent record label. His remix of Cyrusrex appeared alongside electronic greats such as Venetian Snares and cEvin Key of Skinny Puppy for the Negative3 label. Vaclav attended "Los Angeles Recording Workshop" to better tune his mixing skills and learn how to master audio. This is where he met DJ Caelum and taught him how to program tracks. In return Caelum opened him up to one of the most extensive collections of DnB 12" singles. Recently Vaclav toured the US alongside Los Angeles noise act W.A.S.T.E. and played the Kinetic Chicago Noise festival for the Sistinas label as his power noise, glitch/gabber alter ego, Cacophony. As Cacophony he remixed industrial acts Phantom West and C/A/T/. As well as remixed Carl Douglas: Kung Fu Fighting for the Mechanismz label. In early 2008 Vaclav joined forces with Schlaut to create ZhOne for the Jook Music Label. Zhone is a new hybrid sound of downtempo, glitch and dubstep to create a chilled out psychedelic sonic atmosphere. At the end of 2008 Vaclav filled in live keyboards for the Pop one-hit wonder Stefy, which proves his versatility as a musician of all styles and genres. Currently vaclav is recording and producing for many bands and focusing on nentech records! Many new releases coming out so keep checking the site. WWW.NENTECH.COM
