Joined the Army Reserve as a Medic right out of high school (1993). Spent from 1994 to 1997 as an EMT. Became a paramedic in 1997 and got into law enforcement part-time about a month later. The next year I added volunteer firefighter into the mix. 2001-2006 was spent in law enforcement full-time with some activity still in EMS and fire. That all came to an end in late 2006 and I went to work as a conductor for a shortline railroad, which lasted for 7 months. I enjoyed it and do miss it. But the hours were terrible and it just didn't pay the bills. Still certified as a paramedic, I started a new job on August 21st, 2007 with Via Christi Health Systems of Wichita in the ER at St. Joseph Hospital. I've also started back in EMS by going to work part-time for Sedgwick County EMS in July of 2008. I have a wonderful family. A gorgeous wife that has put up with me somehow (10th anniversary on 10-15-09), a great stepdaughter, and the most awesome son in the world that turns 6 on August 12th.
