Umm...ok, this page is about what i'm doing as a musician. I'm always interested in playing. I'm open to the possibility of one-offs, extended projects, theater, dance, recording, touring, etc...I've been a bass player forever, but recently have been working out on some other instruments, guitar particularly, but some keys as well.
The folks I'm working with with some regularity at the moment are Amy Pickard & the Cradlers (www.myspace.com/amypickard), BC Camplight (www.myspace.com/bccamplightmusic) and Hong Kong Stingray (www.myspace.com/hongkongstingray). I'm the utility guy with HKS, my first regular non bass playing gig ever! I also continue to play on occasion with a jazz group called The Gentlemen 4 (www.gentlemen4.com) and interstellar folk poppies the Wayward Wind (www.myspace.com/thewaywardwind).
I was recently able to do a couple of tours with footstompin' country soul boys Hoots and Hellmouth (www.myspace.com/hootshellmouth) which was great. Some other people and groups i've been lucky enough to work with over the last several years are Joshua Marcus (www.myspace.com/joshuamarcus), Martha Graham Cracker (www.myspace.com/marthagrahamcracker), Mimirock, the Wandering Ramblers (Philly 48 hour film festival represent!), Tim Conley, She-Haw, the Big Mess Orchestra (www.bigmess.com), Jungulungularity (www.zer01ne.com), the Diane Linkletter Experience, Tin Ear, & Farmland. I've also had the good fortune of being able to work on music in pieces for the Philadelphia Fringe Festival, most notably with Rick Henderson on Headlong Dance Theatre's 'Hotel Pool' (www.headlong.org).
I don't have any specific style of music that I am tied into playing. In fact, the most important thing to me is to always try to involve myself in projects that require different mindsets and approaches. I suppose that my ultimate goal as a musician is to be able to play (and fit in) with any other musician, at any time, under any circumstances...Communication! I'm as likely to be influenced by the sound of the drip from my bathtub faucet or the way a person fidgets awkardly in an elevator as I am by music.
So anyway, I like to play the bass. A lot. I've always got my eyes and ears out for new and potentially interesting collaborations. Hopefully you'll enjoy some of the tunes on this here page. fresh.
