Henrik Littauer

About Me

Henriks conciousness about the world grew out of his greenlandic childhood. At the age of 10 he got a cultural chock when moving back to his native country Denmark. This made him become a musician, initially playing classical music, and as a teen digging into rock. Henrik's whole life has been music, and all his memories are...music.
From the age of 19 Henrik has had a professional musical career of folk, country, rock, pop and new age/world music. Primarily living and recording in Copenhagen, and touring with unknown, famous and legendary bands. In his thirties he managed to graduate from medical school, and for more than a decade Henrik was devoted to becoming a psychiatrist. He spent 13 years in Tromsø, Northern Norway.
In 2000, when Henrik's 5th child was born, he went back to the professional music scene, besides which he's a part-time shrink. Lately Henrik has been scoring documentaries producing, and to some extend gigging. In 2006 he moved back to Copenhagen.

Sounds Like: The closest you get to Henrik's heart is the CDs made together with Rene Evald (Evald & Littauer) "Sealands", "For Your Love" & "Kærlighedens Stjernetegn". In recent years he's been preparing a solo album. In the 70s Henrik did three albums with danish/american countryrock group "Buffalo". The album "Back On The Trail" from 1979 contains three tracks with Henrik on vocals. In the early 80s Henrik joined legendary danish rockband Malurt when he made friends with Michael Falch. However during the recording of their third album "Black-Out" Henrik and Peter Viskinde quit to form Doraz. The music of Doraz was initially closely related to Malurt, but it soon turned into a more temporary pop-band. From 2000 Henrik's been very active on the local northern Norwegian musicscene playing a major role in the release of singer/sonwriter Jan Arvid Johansen debut-album and working with singer Anita Karlsen. He's also been scoring documentaries and played with local bands. As a producer Henrik has worked with danish Poul Krebs, american Peter Goldman and the band Effy & Eliten. He has also recorded in Greenland on the legendary Aasivik 1977 album and with Per Berthelsen and Juaaka. Musically Henrik grew up with Peter Viskinde, and they share common roots. They can be heard together on several of Peter's solo-albums, ie. "Born On A Red Star" from 2002.
