L.A. 's Only Clash Tribute

About Me

One day whilst surfing ye olde internet, a young Clash fanatic named Cash discovered the injustice that no one in the large metropolis known as the City of Angels had, up to this point, paid proper tribute to The Clash. After some deliberation, he decided to forgo the time-honored L.A. tradition of searching for bandmates through The Recycler and placed this ad on-line: "Joe Strummer looking for Mick, Paul and Topper to rev it up one more time." As luck would have it, an even younger and more fanatic Clasher named Mike was up to the task of tackling the ever-so difficult, Mick Jones' guitar textures. Then, they hired ex-New Edwardian drummer Riff to fill the part of Tory Crimes, which he did quite well by leaving the band before they got up and running. So they managed to enlist a young Canadian buck by the name of Rob to bang out the Topper beat of time. After auditioning many a pretender, it all came together when Mark charged through the battered studio door armed with a '73 blonde P-Bass and a handful of British coiled-cables. Young and good-looking, he came ready to fill not only Paul's Doc Marten's, but Bernie Rhodes' as well. Two for the price of one! Much like London Calling when it came out on vinyl. So this latest version of El Clash Combo has set out to keep the music, spirit and legacy of "The Only Band That Matters" alive and well. Viva The Clash! Viva Joe Strummer![Bio by Harlan Savage, Independent Rock Critic, Charleston, WV;]
