My family and friends, genealogy, cooking, travel, photography, reading, learning, and generally having fun and enjoying life.

My future great grandchildren! Of course, I will have to stick around for quite a while if I hope to do this, since my oldest grandson is only six years old! Naturally, I would like to meet some new friends, too. Why don't you introduce yourself?
Country music, easy listening, jazz, gospel, bluegrass. I enjoy almost any music that I can understand and is not too abrasive and caustic.
I believe that movies should be entertaining and fun, and that they should make you feel good, make you think, or teach you something. I don't want to be scared or horrified or sit through a lot of material that either offends me or gives me nightmares.
I don't watch a lot of TV. I find it incredulous that there can be 150 channels on TV and the majority of the time I cannot find anything on there that is worth sitting through. I do like to keep up with the news and weather, some political pontificating (just enough to feel like I am an informed voter..definitely not a junkie), the Discovery and History Channels, a little Sci-Fi. I occasionally enjoy some of the movies on TCM or the Hallmark Channel. or I may even tune into a game show or an old sitcom if I am really bored. Usually though, I turn the TV off for 20 to 22 hours each day.
Historical novels, genealogy research books, books about far-away places, or about whatever I am trying to learn at the moment, self-help books and a little philosophy and psychology.
My mom and my son. Also all the veterans and current service men and women who have and are defending our freedom and safety. May God bless and care for each and everyone, both the living and those who have passed on or given their life for us already. I am also thankful for those who are working to protect and preserve our environment and the limited resources of this planet.
