I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

Before I get into full rambling, I'll give this one note. If you are going to hit me up for an "add" to your friends list, great. Just send me a note and tell me who the heck and where the heck you are, something about you. I have lots of people *who aren't those spam things* request me to be on their friends list, and never send a word, don't answer my message, what's the point!? Don't rattle the cage if you don't want to play with the monkey! Ok, then... How the heck are you supposed to describe "you?" That is what your friends are for. But don't listen to them, they lie!!! :) So I guess I'll have to do it for them. I'm originally from Ontario, Canada. I've lived all across the US and am now north of Atlanta, GA. in a little burg called Arcade, west of Athens. I moved to the US with my parents when I was a kid and landed in the Height - Ashbury district of San Francisco in September of '67 *yes, I'm that old* and believe me, the "Bay Area" was an interesting place to grow up through the 60's and 70's. Too bad I can't remember it! ;) I thought EVERYONE was a hippy until I was 18 and grew up in the "don't trust anyone over 30" generation... *laugh* Ask me about the little flower girl. It's a funny story. :) I've been pounding steel for years now. Black smithing is a dying art and it's up to us to keep it alive! I make ornamental iron work as well as SCA *ask me later if you don't know* and civil war re-creationist and camping gear. I spend a lot of time in the outdoors with all types of people and really enjoy that aspect of my life. I teach black smithing workshops and belong to the Alex Bealer black smtith Assc. of Georgia. Check them out at www.alexbealer.com I'm in the process of building my own little recording studio at home. :) Music is something that has always been a constant in my life and denying it seems futile, so... There you go. I'm a musician and play primarily percussion, everything from Celtic to African to Latin to just plain "rockin' out." I am currently playing with a band called "Moonstruck" (www.moonstruckmusic.com) Raising a din seems to be my nature whether it be hammer to steel or hand to drum, people usually know when I'm around. I played Rugby at the national level with the Atlanta Renegages RFC for several years as well as in the military (USAF) where I got tagged with the nickname "Boomer" as I was an exlposives expert. I wrestled on the varsity team in HS and college and spent a stint teaching in a Martial arts studio. I agree with my friend TABBER, that violence is not the answer and that people should know how to defend themselves from those who would try to harm them. Defending yourself is NOT being "violent." It's your right as a human being standing on this planet! I'm a very spiritual person and I've studied much about many religions and philosophies and have come to the conclusion that we are all on the same journey to the same end, we just take different paths to get there and none are "right or wrong," we are simply traveling the way we each choose. Live your life for you, and each to his own. If you're still reading at this point, then you've got either an interest in me as a person or you'll read pretty much anything 'cause you're really bored!!! :) If you want to know more or just want to say "hi," then write me a letter. Friends extend our life and our lives. Even friends we only "see" through a computer.Bright blessings to you... Boomer

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

As far as the "popular crowd"... Stephen King, George Clinton (P-funk rocks!), but especially... Julie Newmar. Theeee Catwoman. Purrrrr... As far as the "personal crowd"... Someone who understands and accepts me for just what I am and can deal with the fact that I'm honest (sometimes brutally so), sincere, say what I think and feel and don't play games that don't come in a box. I'm creative and intense and that shouldn't scare you, you should be glad I'm not a mindless dolt and can express my emotions as they happen. Someone who does not form their life around being politically correct. I personally think the term "politically correct" is an oxymoron. I want to meet people who don't categorize and prepackage people but take each relationship and friendship as it comes, for what it is. Still here? Cool. Write me, but don't ask to be my "friend" until we know we've got something in common. I'm not a number collector. Most all of my myspace friends are people I do or want to know in the real world, too.
