About Me
My name is Cynthia McCrory-Kautz. I am a Quinault Native American and proud to be one. I live on the most beautiful land in the world, the Quinault Indian Reservation. I have a view of the Pacific Ocean out my back door, we have a beautiful preserved beach where rocks project into the sea, where sand beds are filled with the tastiest (razor) clams in the world, a river where my favorite fish “the blue-black†sockeye swim, where our forest is rich with cedar and where deer and elk roam. God has truly blessed the Quinault with such beauty and wealth. I have been with my husband 29 years and we have five beautiful children and three grandchildren. My oldest daughter is Natosha Rose (28) she works for her Tribe in Nisqually as the Education Asst. Manager and just recently received her bachelors’ degree, and working on her Masters degree. My oldest Benjamin Allen Jr. (27) is a member of the Drywall Union and is a journeyman. He lives in Olympia WA. June 21, 2008 married his high school sweetheart, Trish Martin, at Lake Quinault Lodge, located near the upper Quinault River. In his high school days he was Taholah’s quarterback when Taholah Chitwhins won their (so far) one and only State Football Champion at the Tacoma Dome in 1997. Kyle Francis (21) works for his tribe (Nisqually) and also attending college,he lives in Olympia with his girlfriend Erica Revey, she is a Lummi native and had my first granddaughter born in February, 2009. Kyle is also a geoduck diver and joins his dad, brother and uncles on the boat from about April - August ever year. Kyle broke a state high school football passing record that was held for 18 years. (It’s ironic that the record had been held since 1987, the year he was born) Monica Leigh (20) graduated from High School June 2007 She was voted her Senior year as "LEGAUE's" MVP in Volleyball Basketball, and Fastpitch In between her high school sports, she would workout with Bear Bradely at the Boxing Club. She start training as a boxer when she was about 10 years old. She has a newborn, Chad Ralston Jr. born November 13, 2008. My youngest daughter, Alison Kaylie (19) graduated from High School in June 2008; she and her sister Monica have been blessed to have gone to four State tournaments in Fastpitch, Volleyball, and Basketball. Alison was crowned Homecoming Queen her Senior year. She and Monica are signed up to play fastpitch at Grays Harbor College this spring 2009. My children have all attended school here in Taholah, home of the Mighty Chitwhins! I come from a very athletic family and, yes, we all are sport fanatics. My children all have excelled very well in their sporting activities. They have ALL been chosen by classmates as Homecoming and Prom royalty, and I hope voted for because of their sincere, genuine, down to earth personalities. I prayed a blessing over my children when they were very young because the bible says to bless them. If you speak blessing, blessing shall come. I believe your child's future is influenced by the praise you give them. God has decreed that words shall play a dominate role in shaping the character and destiny of human beings. My father, Francis McCrory Sr went to the Church altar with each one of his children and grandchildren, and it was then and at that moment that they were dedicated and given to the Lord. I have over 50 nieces and nephews (from both sides)that I truly love, and numerous cousins and other family members that also live nearby too. I grew up here in Taholah all of my life and I love the beauty that surrounds me each and every day. I have been in my job for going on 32 yrs(since October 11, 1977) for the Quinault Indian Nation. I love my job and I really do care about the prosperity of this Nation. My husband worked for the QIN Fish Hatchery for 20 years before he took a job at the QBR as a drywall worker, from there he now pursues seasonal diving (Geoduck)in Puget Sound. In addition, he is currently the Nisqually jails maintenance supervisor. We are currently not together, but I continue to pray for him everyday. Our village her in Taholah may have issues just like any other place, but we have a lot of love here in Taholah. Hatred stirreth up strifes: but love covereth all sins. We as Quinault people really to care for one another. We have close-knit families, and we are all like brothers and sisters. Family is the heart and soul of every community. I like to say too that I try and do my part in the world by giving to charity, and I have a few favorites that I make on-going monetary contributions. These last few years I have written about 15 poems, something that I never expected I’d ever be doing. I believe it’s a form of discipleship work that the Lord has blessed me with. Once I get this space situated, I will post some of my poems. We all have family member that are affected by drugs and alcohol, and my heart burdens for them all. Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved. I was very fortunate to be born into the greatest family ever, I think. We did not have much growing up. We lived in a small house with eleven of us that included mom (Sharon Simmons McCrory) and dad (Francis McCrory Sr), my three sisters, (Shelley McCrory, Jennifer Scott, Naomi, aka Mrs. Jerry Walther) four brothers, (Jr, John, Vernon, Patrick)and a cousin (Bonnie Bailey)we raised. One thing our family never lacked was “Love†and I will always cherish this that was given to me from my wonderful parents. Throughout life’s trials and tribulations, they were married for over 54 years before my father passed on in 2004 at the age of 84. They instilled in their children good old-fashioned morals and values, such things as "patriotism, loyalty, faithfulness, courage, kindness, education, family, sharing, harmony, laughter, love, honesty, respect, the ability to make the crucial distinctions between right and wrong†I try my best as a parent to instill these same kinds of values in raising my children. I pray that the Lord go before me each day and reveal things I need to know in my everyday life. I have strong intuition about a lot of things, but I’d rather have Gods truth. Above all, the most important thing I hoped I’ve taught my children is to have their own intimate relationship with our Lord and Savior. I know I don’t have perfect children, nor am I perfect because I know there is no one perfect, but God. I believe Jesus walked this same Earth as you and I are walking today and He taught God’s will be done on Earth, as it is in Heaven. God knew that there was sin in the world, so he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. I believe there is a heaven and a hell. I pray every day for my salvation, the salvation of my children, grandchildren, and the salvation of my people.
Because he LOVES me, I am a CONQUEROR! I have the POWER! To walk the FIRE! I can TAKE it! I can BREAK it! HE gave me the key to VICTORY!
