Born in Georgia in the late 80s, Kera was aware at a very young age that she was unique compared to the other children she grew up with. Her first introduction to music was by her mother who played her tunes by new age artist Yanni, saxophonist Kenny G, and singer Mariah Carey and even then, Kera began to develop her own distinct taste for music. Shortly after that, she became aware of, and fell in love with what she would come to know was Hip Hop. Her curiosity about this style of music led her to learn about how Hip Hop grew to its current level of popularity. Being a poet, she was intrigued by the lyrics behind rap and immediately began writing her own lyrics using what she believed to be her voice, her own music. She drew inspiration from artists such as Queen Latifah, Salt N Pepper, Lauren Hill, Lil’ Kim and underground legends such as Gangsta Boo & Three Six Mafia. They inspired in Kera the confidence that with persistence, she could conquer anything in life. ~~~~
The zone i'm in now is just trying to take in all the knowledge i can. Writing music is therapy in it's best form. Pushing and pulling you at all times to be honest. One of the best qualities anyone can have for themselves. So by saying that I as you to stay tune...so that you can hear my truth and hear about the journey i've been on.....
