Lauren McCain went to be with Jesus on April 16, 2007.
Lauren was one of the victims of the VA Tech Tragedy. She had an amazing faith in God and has been such an inspiration to me ever since that tragic day. I've recently attended her church that she loved so much, have met with some of her friends, and have met her wonderful parents, Dave & Sherry McCain. Learning about Lauren and her love for Jesus, has had a huge impact on my heart. I can't wait to meet with Lauren in heaven and offer praises to Jesus Christ with her! I pray that thousands of people around the world, enter into a life-changing relationship with Jesus Christ as a result of her wonderful testimony.
Lauren, words cannot adequately express how much of an impact your love and your passion for Jesus Christ has had on me. I have learned so much about you since the day you left this earth to be with Him. God has used your heart and He continues to use you to transform the lives of people.
Thanks to you and your beautiful love affair with Jesus, I've thought more about Heaven this past year than I have ever thought about it before in the past. I now look forward to that day when I move from this world, into eternity with Christ. I always try to picture you there, with that amazing smile and I try to think about what you are doing there. I imagine you dancing, singing and praising our great and awesome God, fully enjoying being in the presence of the King, whom you called the love of your life. I can only imagine the abounding joy that you are experiencing right now! It makes me smile and long to be there with you!
Lauren, you have taught me with your tremendous example, how to live life with an eternal perspective, focused on things above instead of living life just focused on this world. God has used your tremendous example that you set, to teach me how to truly live for Him, truly love Him with all my heart, soul, mind and strength, and truly love others.
You are so missed by so many of your family and friends. You will never be forgotten. I will continue to pray daily for your family and and all who loved you so very much. I have really grown very fond of your family and I love every one of them so very much!
Thank you so much for being such an amazing disciple of Jesus. You have taught me the importance of investing my life into the things that will outlast it, long after I am no longer physically here to make a difference. I can't wait to see you where you are one day, but for right now, God has a purpose for me here on Earth and He still has work for me to do here. Just know for now, that you are so loved, my precious sister in Christ. I hope that you enjoy resting in the awesome love of our Heavenly Father, from which there comes no greater love. Freely, you have received, and freely you have given.
"The purpose and love of my life is Jesus Christ. I don't have to argue religion, philosophy, or historical evidence because I KNOW Him. He is just as real, if not more so, as my 'earthly' father." Lauren McCain
"The very worst thing for us is the very best thing for her. Lauren's desires were to see God and to share His love around the world; she has done both of these." Lauren's father, Dave McCain
"Though I don't know if this is where I'm supposed to be or if I'm going to fail at the things I set out to acheive, I do know that I will praise you, my Lord and God! I thank you for for all you've done for me and I glorify your name for being God. You are merciful and forgiving, personal and caring, mighty and just, omniscient and all powerful and you are MY GOD. Take control of this existence and use me. Bring me friends that love you, truly love you, not just the religous. Take my worries and anxiety and take control (it feels like I'm missing something, Jesus, show me what it is). But it's late and tomorrow will be busy. Love, Lauren A. McCain"From Lauren's journal, the day that she arrived at VA Tech university. 8/16/06
