About Me
Mario Kontaxis was born in Cyprus, on the 31st of March 1977.
At the age of eleven in 1988, He moved with his mom to South Africa, and found himself in a little town known as Middelburg, in the Mpumalanga province.
He then attended the Middelburg primary school (MPS), where he met best friends, ALLAN KEMP and SIMON SWANEPOEL.In 1992, Mario Kontaxis joined STEELCREST HIGH SCHOOL, and it was at that same time that the rave scene in South Africa was building up to world status!!The RAVE ERA hit South Africa like a storm, and Mario Kontaxis found himself right in the middle of it!!!He began playing on tape decks and standard cd players at his step dad`s bar in Middelburg to a maximum croud of 100 people a night. In the late 90`s, he realised that his passion was to entertain people, and therefore he decided to become a professional dj.After high school, he joined the Technics DJ ACADEMY of RSA in Johannesburg, where he met Dave Skinz, Jason the fool and Patrick, Not forgetting Lady Chaos. In one way or another, The team at Technics helped to shape up his mixing skills and abillities, and in September of 2001, Mario Kontaxis graduated from the Technics DJ ACADEMY obtaining silver in third position.He then moved to Nelspruit, and joined a production company called SOUND SYSTEMS. Through them he began getting gigs at private parties, events etc.
His first clubs were MAD DOG, BOURBON STR, MATRIX, CLUB STATUS, PUMA`S SPORTS CAFE, REALITY and many more.In 2004, Mario Kontaxis returned home to Cyprus, and he is currently involved with his first stages of production.To all his friends and family back in South Africa he has one simple message...WE WILL MEET AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
