Franklin Anthony Taveras, Jr. aka KaraDura, was born in Manhattan on July 29, 1980 to parents Cristina Peña and Franklin Antonio Taveras.
At the age of just 17, Franklin “Kara†as called by friends fell in love with the art of music, with merengue being his main focus. As the years progressed so did his love for music. Determined to one day become a star in the Latin industry he started out as a percussionist for local groups. Kara did not stop there. With lots of time & dedication he began singing choruses and creating choreography for infamous groups such as, Alex Rogers, Chiko Malo, Los Hermanos Franco, Charlie Valens, Mambo De Chala, Zombra Negra aka Oro Blanco, Ricky Castro y su banda Soberbia, Tony Swing, Mambo De Chokolate,Orlando Conga & Watatah.
Touring to such states as Florida, Boston, Washington DC, Maryland, Virginia, Rhode Island, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Nprth and South Carolina, Atlanta and more. With the love of fans and the ability to be versatile, look out for him to be at a city near you making sure to leave his mark!
