Born out of back-alley NIGHT TRAIN binge-drinking sessions, RAW DOG has been bizarre right from the get-go. Combining crudely funny acoustic guitar/vocal songs with the laid-back beauty of trip-hop and the weirdness of psychedelia, this band has become a sonic mutt puppy. The project was conceived by founding members BIG D and MK5, also of the Raleigh punk band, SIXTEEN SHOT CLIP. Months later, ANA MONZON joined the group, in order to contribute some female essence into the music. Most recently ILL BILL from Durhams well known punk band DEAD TO SOCIETY joined in to submit his talent on bass with hopes to spread his wings and contribute abstract vibes and with hopes to learn new talents as well.
Most of the time, our recordings are purely improvisational. BIG D, our guitarist/engineer would hit 'record' and we would just play whatever came to mind. He's a big believer in the power of spontaneity.
Anyhow, we plan to keep recording music, so keep checking in with us to hear more weird audio. Thanks for the support
