Gotham Grooves

• Started on January 1, 2001 by Agent Orange (Ara Krikorian) & Deekron Krikorian, Gotham Grooves is a New York City-based, underground dance music label. It was founded by individuals that share a common passion for the music and that have traveled far and wide to learn about the music and the scene. One of our objectives in starting this label was to help fill the void for high-quality, respected Techno. By meeting this objective, we hope to motivate other labels to do the same. If there is enough high-quality, creative, and appreciated Techno tracks coming out, we can help put Techno back in people’s minds and help make a come-back on the global Techno scene. If we can get others to believe in our music and to become inspired by this vision, we will have made a difference.Accomplishments • Ten successful releases to date • Release Six licensed by Carl Cox for his “Fact3 Live in Australia” mix CD • Release Six licensed by Japans top female techno DJ Mayuri for “Reboot #2” mix • Release Six licensed by Czech Rep.’s top female techno DJ Lucca for a DVD mix compilation • Release Five licensed by Montuno Vibes, Belgium • Releases getting played at massive, globally respected events such as: GGr005 - Alek Biotic - Funk Matter EP (Agent Orange Remix) played by Richie Hawtin @ I Love Techno 2003 • Arranged Cristian Varela’s first-ever US performance at our own night • Main artist, Agent Orange, tours regularly and has played in N&S. America, Europe, and Asia
