Martin Terens

Martin Terens was born 1985 in Hamburg, Germany as a son of Polish parents. At the age of 8 he began to play the classical piano. He also began to play vioin, organ, cembalo and double bass. Various times he took part in classical competitions like "Jugend Musiziert" where he oftenly won First Prizes. In 2004 he began playing Jazz and in the same year he won the the competition "Jugend Jazzt" as a solo pianist and with his quartett. Since 2005 he is a student at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hamburg.Martin took lessons from Buggy Braune, Vladislav Sendecki, Jacky Terrasson, Mark Soskin, Kevin Hays, Mischa Schumann, Torsten Aldag and Lucas Lindholm. He played with various musicians like Georgie Fame, Bill Ramsey, Torsten Goods, Gene Jackson, David Sanchez, Roy Hargrove, Elizabetz Cunningham, NDR BigBand and some others. With various groups he made concerts in USA, Yemen and Lebanon, Poland and Austria.
