Best known for her powerful deep cutting sultry voice, jazzy piano , and strong acoustic guitar playing... Jaynie Trudell has been performing and composing music since the early age of 12.
A small town girl from Lisbon, NY, third of 4 children in a musical family with instruments everywhere., always singing with her siblings since very young, her father taught her to play guitar at 8 years old. As a teenager with big dreams, at age 16 she won a songwriting contest for Radio station WSLB of Ogdensburg, NY winning her air play and a lot of local notoriety . After achieving all the high school chorus levels, & Area All State Chorus awards, Jaynie appeared in the chorus of the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by the famous Issaih Jackson. She attended Crane school of Music, Potsdam SUNY.. majoring in voice. Then later studied acting and comedy improvisation at the Actors Playhouse in Nashville, TN.
While living for awhile in the Woodstock , NY area , she was fortunate to have studied with vocal coach Gordon Cook , won Woodstock..s radio "WDST Kentucky Fried Chicken Songwriting Contest" sponsored by Johnny Lee in 1983 and came out third with "The Wrangler Country Star Search", 1982. Played in a variety of bands _The Womblers, Durango, Mass Quanities & Buzwell to name a few, duos with Bob Grimm & Cyndi Cashdollar .She performed the Adirondack & Catskill Mountain scene, East Coast Clubs , & Coffeehouse curcuit , then headed south .__
Spending many years as a session /studio singer in Nashville, TN, regularly performing at places such as the famous Blue Bird Cafe , The Sutler , Douglas Corner and The Broadway Dinner Train , learning the craft of songwriting, and living a life of music...juggling the waitress jobs and writers nights, Jaynie met Toni Price , who would later record in 1993 her song “Twelve Bar Blues†for her “Swim Away†CD, Antone..s Records..it was also released on the compilation CD "Antone Women of Blues Vol II", the song had very much airplay throughout the United States and Europe, and later was recorded in 2005 by Dianne Gaudreau & The Stormy Monday Blues Band of Nova Scotia , Canada , earning Dianne female blues vocalist at the Canadian Music Awards .
Living in Myrtle Beach , SC since 1993 she performs full time as one of the Grand Strand..s most favorite musical entertainers . Local newspaper The Sun News voted her "Songwriter with the Tallest Tales 2004"…Charming the audiences everywhere ,with a wide variety of songs consisting of many styles mixed up with blues, classic rock, country , folk , and originals . . A seasoned player with conviction , a personality that bubbles , and a contagious smile, she offers herself as a solo, duo, trio, full band, whatever the occasion may call for, playing piano, harmonica, and acoustic guitar.
She has performed original showcases at The Hard Rock Cafe, The Palace Theatre, The House Of Blues and has twice been a featured guest at "The Songwriter..s in the Round" at Coastal Carolina University along with appearing on the Carolina Opry.__
Jaynie has appeared in concert with Rick Derringer, Leon Russell, Edgar Winter, Jerry Jeff Walker, Tanya Tucker , Steppenwolf, Dan Fogelberg, The Marshall Tucker Band, Joe Walsh, Lorrie Morgan, Comedian James Gregory , Reverend Billy T Wurtz, The Smothers Bros, Delbert McClinton and blues greats the late Paul Butterfield, Toni Price, Miranda Louise, “Jelly Roll†Johnson, Chris Smither, and John Hammond Jr.
Jaynie was also a semi-finalist in the 2003 “Soul City Café Songwriters Quest†sponsored by Jewel with her song "Its Going to be All Right"
