I'm intersted in my friends, life, the universe, society, and, lets see, teh moon. The moon is really big and used to be part of the Earth. Now it floats in duh sky. Werd.
I'll listen to anything twice, and probably like (or would like) at least 3 of the bands you like. Like, yeah.
No particular order:
Tom Waits, Arcade Fire, Nick Drake, NOFX, Arctic Monkeys, Thom Yorke, Cake, Beck, Bob Dylan, Zoe Speaks (no more!), Clem Snide, Jim White, Rick Lewis, Common, Gorillaz, Herb Alpert, Modest Mouse, Muse, Radiohead, Nirvana, Bad Religion, Outkast, Phish, Pink Floyd, Red Hot Chili Peppers, the Beatles, Sublime, the Flaming Lips, the Killers, the Strokes, the Violent Femmes, Weezer, Wyclef Jean, Social Distortion, Andrew Bird...and always wanting to hear more.
See my favorite videos, thought they were too cluttery on here. I think I like documentary type stuff the best now-a-days. I got tired of giving a damn about fictional characters. Here are almost 200 videos about biology . Suh-weet.
Its called programming for a reason. I have a video called "The Network" in my video favorites that you should watch.
Books are cool. Just finished Consciousness Explained by Daniel Dennett and The Power Elite by C Wright Mills. I like books about how my world works, pretty much, but will read fiction books recommended to me by those whose opinions I respect.
Francois ("Gracchus") Babeuf was a man that lived during the French revolution. His father had him swear as a child an oath to work for the alleviation of the poor's suffering till his last drop of blood. He founded a political journal in Paris called the People's Tribune in which he proposed his arguments for the state of the revolution, which he claimed had not ended. Him and some other people attempted to overthrow the transient government in what is known as the Conspiracy of the Equals.
At his trial he gave one of the most damning testimonies, surely, that the world has ever seen. It is one of my favorite pieces of writing. He was a man beyond his time, indeed beyond this time, and he was summarily executed by the state, fulfilling his blood oath by his father's sword.
