is an all original touring modern metal band hailing from Upstate New York. Formed in early May of 2005, Brandon Wheeler (Lead Guitar), Ed Esposito (Percussion), Josh Williams (Bass), and Mark Ringrose (Lead Vocals) stand steadfast as the founding forefathers of the band. All four members contribute their vocal and musical songwriting ability equally, making D F S unequaled and on the forefront of progressive metal bands everywhere.Since its inception, D F S has strived to constantly deliver heavy, hard-hitting, melodic, and in your face, all original music while maintaining focus on their personal musical roots. The blending of these roots is what gives D F S their unique and extensive variety of material. From the soothing yet aggressive sound of Flatline to the all out and brutal auditory assault that is known only as The X-Factor, D F S has consistently tried to be inconsistent from song to song. This is constituted by each individuals contributions in a team atmosphere, giving each song its own bigger than life persona. The only real distinguishing indications of continuity are the accents and attitude brought to the table by all four members, thus creating an even, broad, sound and giving them the acute internal harmony required to out perform themselves and rise to the next level at any given moment.With well over 20 years of combined musical experience, D F S has set out to be Central New Yorks most prominent band. With national venues under their belt such as: The Lost Horizon (Syracuse, NY), Northern Lights (Albany, NY), Club Amnesia (Utica, NY), The Pussycat Lounge (Manhattan, NYC, NY), Hard Rock Café (Boston, MA), The Upper Deck (Gloversville, NY) and a whole slew of local venues, underground bars, clubs, numerous battle of the bands competitions throughout New York State (placing first out of fourteen bands, second out of ten bands, and third out of seventeen bands), amidst private parties, high schools, and charitable benefits. D F S considers them-selves more than ready for road duty at any given moment.To date, D F S has amassed over fifteen original songs and is constantly and diligently creating more while maintaining their personalized, yet offbeat, signature with every song. Some of the current favorites are: Animal Dope, Until & Then, IFORANI, Flatline, The X-Factor, Open Pyre, Lie2Me, Face It, and I Bleed Black. Currently, the band is preparing to re-enter the studio and record another five tracks, being played on two local radio stations as well as a cable music channel in Rochester, NY.After their first six track EP, entitled Unfinished Business, was released in mid October of 2005, D F S hit the road, pounding the pavement, and found themselves featured in two area newspapers: The Weekend Plus, which contained a full-length article on D F S and their recent success at a local radio stations battle of the bands competition, placing first of fourteen bands, and the second, Fusion Weekly, focused on their current events, future plans, and the touring plans of the band both in the immediate area and regionally.
Since these articles were written, D F S has surpassed themselves on all levels and is exponentially expanding their fan-base while broadening their musical horizons, in hopes of gaining a fruitful and prosperous future, while well representing their own musical community. One of D F S most noble and exultant accomplishments has been their attempt to unite local, regional, statewide, and national acts to form a vast musical commonwealth.
