Altough this band has only been opporating since February, 2007 these young fellows have a long history in the musik scene. Ãvar Örn Kolbeinsson and Egill Tómasson where both in the notorious Dr. Mister & Mr. Handsome wich shook Iceland with bass driven beats and shocking lyrics. A project that lasted a year and gave birth to only theyre debute album “Dirty Slutty Hooker money†wich contained three number one hit´s. Before Dr. Mister & Mr. Handsome Egill Tómasson, Kristinn JúnÃusson & Guðlaugur JúnÃusson where all in the rock band Vinyl. They released an EP and an LP and where a huge success in Iceland with number one hits and packed venues but shortly after releasing theyre LP record they split. Last but not least Jóhann Helgi Ãsfjörð aka Gorbastjov has a long history as a Dj and club night host for Rafræn ReykjavÃk. A electronic radio show in Iceland.The Musik Zoo started out in Copenhagen when Ãvar Örn and Guðlaugur start colaborating on beats that Ãvar had made for a previous project that he had walked away from. The connection was made and no way to break as they realized they had the exact same taste for powerful beats and beautiful melodis. Later Kristinn, Guðlaugur´s twin brother joins and more songs are created. The band had almost gotten its final shape as Jóhann moves to Copenhagen and gets his greacy palms over the tracks and adds just the right magic acid they needed. Now The Musik Zoo was ready for the road and takes The Bloodhound Gang up on theyre offer to tour with them in Germany and Switzerland. After touring with them twice they head over to Iceland to do a bunch of shows and record a demo. Thats where The Musik Zoo got its final touch as Egill Tómasson, the final animal enters the zoo. With a slammin live set and a record half way done these boys are going to be heard loud and clear in the upcoming year.
