yes and no

my friend adam and i are going to release a split ep this summer on our own. some of his tracks, some of mine, and some of us. he goes by the moniker jump the shark, and he lives here: www.mypace.com/jumpthesharkrock. i don't know where the music is taking me, but it will land somewhere between the myriad of influences listed below. more info tba. thank you to amelinda for reminding me that "relative obscurity" and "being okay with moderation" is lame, and that having lots of money is the new starving artist. how else will we buy our 200 dollar jeans? the new honorary title is a record i wish i had written, and the new modest mouse is fantastic. i could listen to that accordion on "little motel" for hours. i work in a music studio for a rad composer by day, a musician and actor by night. i sequence in logic, mix in pro tools, and take things from around my little apartment and make noises with them. i use gibson and fender guitars, adam's bass, an m-audio project mix, octane-8, mac computers, two old PCs i turned into samplers, native instrument plugins, and a host of other nonsense to make music. i enjoy geeking out on gear and setups, so emails discussing the finer points of pre-amps are welcomed. some of the tracks i upload are rough sketches, just hatched. mostly uploaded to share with adam or family. hopefully soon i can erase this and say, "these tracks are finished products, and i'm done writing." i like scoring my friend Joe's movies, and creating strange characters out of his words. some of those scored tracks make it up here sometimes. his film site is www.jandmfilms.com and his myspace is www.myspace.com/71859880. one of his award winning shorts is up there in clips. good times.hope you are well.
