About Me

Hi Everyone!
I’m John Weeden... welcome to my page.
I have been a singer-songwriter since the age of 15 and have been doing so for more than 20 years. I have fronted bands and performed in clubs, churches and on college campuses.
After a 5-year run in Tampa as a Worship Pastor and mortgage consultant, I have just returned to the town I love—Orlando.
If you like my music, please feel free to drop me a line. If you are an artist, let’s get to know each other and see how we can help each other out.
Sax and Violins,
John

It only takes a moment, a moment, you see
The time you take my breath away
So let me spend this moment, Mon Chéri
Holding hands with you in Saint-Tropez
It only takes a moment, a moment in time
To find the words I want to say
When I have no reason; I have no rhyme
I’ll hold hands with you in Saint-Tropez
The innocence, it’s so simple
A simple look, a simple glance
The innocence of this moment
Turns into romance

(Verse 1)
Sometimes You calm the stormy sea
Sometimes You let it blow
Even at its very worst
You never let us go
I read that Peter walked on water,
Also that he sank
Even though he didn’t drown
He got some dirty water drank
(Pre-chorus)
I hear the wind on every side
But it don’t matter ‘cos I’m inside
(Chorus)
The eye of the storm,
I’m safe and warm
It’s the only way I’m getting through
So here am I
Secure and dry,
In the eye of the storm with You
In the eye of the storm with You
(Verse 2)
I know this storm will pass me by
But I know You never will
So if You want, then let it rage
If not then make it still
I’m not the one to make that call
For the storm to rage or subside
I know You have great plans for me;
I trust You to decide
(Pre-chorus)
I hear the wind on every side
But it don’t matter ‘cos I’m inside
(Chorus)
The eye of the storm,
I’m safe and warm
It’s the only way I’m getting through
So here am I
Secure and dry,
In the eye of the storm with You
In the eye of the storm with You
(Bridge)
(It’s time…)
To lift my chin up
Dry these selfish tears
(It’s time…)
To face the music
Abandon baseless fears
(It’s time…)
To walk the path
Not cower on the floor
(It’s time…)
To look at You
Not giants anymore
(Chorus)
The eye of the storm,
I’m safe and warm
It’s the only way I’m getting through
So here am I
Secure and dry,
In the eye of the storm with You
The eye of the storm,
I’m safe and warm
It’s the only way I’m getting through
So here am I
Secure and dry,
In the eye of the storm with You
In the eye of the storm with You

(Verse 1)
I tried to be a golfer, I just couldn't hack it
I tried to play some football, but I just couldn’t sack it
Hockey for a while, my career is now on ice
I tried to be a wrestler, but I’m too polite and nice
(Chorus)
I’ve got two left feet, in an awkward position
My perdition has been a hallmark of shame
No matter how strange I view this apparition
I take solace whenever you call my name
(Verse 2)
I tried to start an airline; couldn't get it off the ground
I tried to play the gee-tar, but I got this scary sound
Then I taught some scuba, but the joint somehow went under
I tried to say, “I love you,” instead I’ve got this blunder
(Chorus)
I’ve got two left feet, in an awkward position
My perdition has been a hallmark of shame
No matter how strange I view this apparition
I take solace whenever you call my name
(Bridge)
When my Ying’s got no Yang
Universe has got no bang
When my life is full of “some” things lacking awe
When my world falls apart
From the depths of my heart
Am I subject to be bound by Murphy’s Law?
(Chorus)
I’ve got two left feet, in an awkward position
My perdition has been a hallmark of shame
No matter how strange I view this apparition
I take solace whenever you call my name
I’ve got two left feet, in an awkward position
My perdition has been a hallmark of shame
No matter how strange I view this apparition
I take solace whenever you call my name

Listen to the message I have to say
But the words won’t ride past my tongue
Whispers barely break my parted lips
O I long to be the one that you’re dreaming of
Another rose
The petals wilt so slow
In a rush to save it I grab the thorns
And the blood drops stain the snow
I counted all the moments you broke my heart
And every time I bounce back stronger still
My heart grows founder every time I cry
Crying out for the love of my angel
Another rose
The petals wilt so slow
In a rush to save it I grab the thorns
And the blood drops stain the snow
I know they told me to shy away
But it’s so hard to let loose the meaning of my soul
This flame in my heart will forever burn
My desire circumscribes my lack of control
Another rose
The petals wilt so slow
In a rush to save it I grab the thorns
And the blood drops stain the snow
Another rose
The petals wilt so slow
In a rush to save it I grab the thorns
And the blood drops stain the snow
Lyrics to "ORBIT”: ORBIT

I got a ticket to ride
Into the blue sky
Gonna leave this planet
I’m gonna fly
Always got the Sonlight
In my eye
Circling the Son
I’m in orbit
Around the Son
Rockets a blazing
I’ve got my course tracking ‘round the Son
He’s truly amazing
I find my life has just begun
I got a ticket to ride
Into the blue sky
Gonna leave this planet
I’m gonna fly
Always got the Sonlight
In my eye
Circling the Son
I’m in orbit
Around the Son
As I orbit the cen-ter
His gravity’s a-pullin me through
I commune with my Mentor
He guides me in all I should do
I got a ticket to ride
Into the blue sky
Gonna leave this planet
I’m gonna fly
Always got the Sonlight
In my eye
Circling the Son
I’m in orbit
Around the Son
Fire it up…
Fire it up…
Fire it up…
(Blast off for the Lord)
Fire it up…
Fire it up…
Fire it up…
(It’s time to get on board)
I have faith in my shield
The Word is my sword
I tighten my belt
The Truth my reward
This helmet will save me
My vest keeps me right
From the demons that are
Haunting in the night
Tighten your boots
Let’s light this fuse
Begin our trek around the stars
And spread the Good News
Best of all if the devil
Throws a fit
Throw on your armor and
Jump (into orbit)
I got a ticket to ride
Into the blue sky
Gonna leave this planet
I’m gonna fly
Always got the Sonlight
In my eye
Circling the Son
I’m in orbit
Around the Son

Things are getting interesting,
None see it but a few.
This blimp were on
Is almost gone.
The flight is almost through.
The passengers ain't worried,
'Coz nothing's happened yet
What they don't see
Just might well be
Their single biggest threat.
We gotta sound out the alert
Before these people hit the dirt
Can't you hear the fire bells?
Can't you smell the smoke?
This surely ain't no drill, my friend,
And surely ain't no joke.
It don't matter if you’re rich,
Intelligent or cute
This planet's going down in flames;
You need a parachute.
We’re riding Planet Hindenburg
Of that there is no doubt
You better learn
It's gonna burn
And plan on getting out.
I've read the last page of the book.
I know what has been planned.
Your final end
Will all depend
On how you’re gonna land.
We gotta sound out the alert
Before these people hit the dirt
Can't you hear the fire bells?
Can't you smell the smoke?
This surely ain't no drill, my friend,
And surely ain't no joke.
It don't matter if you’re rich,
Intelligent or cute
This planet's going down in flames;
You need a parachute.

Band Members: John Weeden: 6-String Bass, Acoustic & Electric Guitars, Keys, Drum Programming & Vocals.

Influences: Sting, The Police, U2, Mute Math, Pillar, P.O.D. and countless others.
Sounds Like: Many "New Wave" 80's artists have been a big influence on John's vocal style (ie. The Police, The Cure, Pet Shop Boys, The Fixx, Flock of Seagulls and countless others).

Today's techno influences include Royksopp, Moby, MuteMath and Maroon 5.

Synth work from David Frank, known best for The System's "Don't Disturb This Groove" and Chaka Khan's "I Feel For You", and that hypnotic Mini-Moog bass line from Phil Collin's Sussudio shaped John's tendency to create "monster" bass lines.

Favorite bassists include Sting, John Taylor (Duran Duran), Kim Stone (Spyro Gyra, The Rippingtons), T-Bone Wok (Hall & Oats), Roy Mitchell-Cárdenas (Mute Math), and Yves Carbonne.

Currently, I am seeking a sponsorship from Ibanez. I currently use Ibanez electric and acoustic guitars exclusively.
