About Me

as far as i understand things, philadelphia is a fucking holy city and it's the ground that i want to stand on. like most things in this life, there's a whole fucking tide of corruptions and commodification that threaten to choke the life out of this place. corporations and developers are trying to buy up everything. rich white folks take over the neighborhoods and change the landscape, rip the blood right out of the fucking walls of all the houses. naturally, i have a place in this process.
if i had to say something about what it is that makes us human i would say that it has something to do with the ways that we create the world around us--some mixed up bit of G-d's spark that still rattles somewhere inside everybody's pulse. the tragedy--in philly, in everywhere--is the way that this divine quality, that this holy fucking potential, gets beaten into jobs, jails, shitty neighborhoods, or just gets put the fuck out by somebody with a gun or a gun and a badge. we don't control anything. we don't own anything. they don't even let us touch anything just in case we decide to make something out of it.
since this whole mess just leads us somewhere between more-of-the-same and the-end-of-all-days, it feels clear to me that we've got to get out of this situation. that we've got to destroy all the shit systems that are holding us back. we've got to organize and learn how to organize because that's the only chance that i've got, you've got, or anybody else really has in this city. philadelphia is a beautiful place but it's also a shit place and we're going to have a fight to make it into something that meets human needs and is directed by human creativity. and it's going to be hard. and we're going to fuck up along the way. but G-d willing, we're going to learn and we're going to fucking do it.
