Sam Magliolo brought the pizza tradition of Rockford, Illinois to Hammond during the 50's and 60's with Sam's Pizza on the corner of Blackburn Road. In 1976, Sam's niece Dot Burchard kept the same recipes when opening a pizzeria named after her son, Tommy. In 1989, Tommy's Pizza was purchased from the Burchard family by James Webb. The second location in Ponchatoula was opened in March of 2002. The company expanded again in March of 2003 with the opening of this historic downtown location. We feel the atmosphere of this building best represents the ambiance, quality, and time-proven methods of Tommy's past and future. According to this philosophy, we refuse to veer away from the old traditional ways of making a pie. All of our pies are made fresh to order and prepared in the old style baking ovens as there were in the 50's and always will be.
What goes better with pizza other than these beers on tap!
