I just added an old Clique tune from 75'. Donny Clayton's "Moving On Out". I'm, on vocals and latin percussion, Donny on guitar, Steve Clayton ..s, Larry Coe on Bass, Jerry Wise producer/engineer/drums, Jay Scott on bari and tenor sax, (horns arranged by Steve, trombone and
Donny, trumpet) and "Little Lois" Lois Johnson of "Little Lois and the Capris"
fame with another gal from the motor city whose name I can't recall. This was the A side of a promo 45 with "Love Is The Power" on the B side. Donny and I wrote "Love Is The Power" it hit pretty well regionally going as long as eleven weeks at 3 in some markets.
This was just before Jay cut his classic sax solo on Alicia Bridges'
"I Like The Night Life" There is a link to Alicia's video in my blog section where you can listen to the song and Jay's sax break.
I just added the trailer to Harris Mendheims' new film Skiptracers. Frank, Davie and I made casting call as extras. It was a riot on location, lots of fun and interesting folks. There were alot of very talented cast and rew members.
Davie Frank and I have been friends since round 64' or 65'. I worked alot for Lamar's Dad back in the day. Mr. Miller was a legendary business man in the hospitality industry. Started working with Lamar back in the late 70's early 80's til now.
"The music business is a cruel and shallow money trench, a long plastic hallway where thieves and pimps run free, and good men die like dogs. There's also a negative side."
Hunter S. Thompson
Memory is a song I wrote back in 76'. This recording is a work in progress with basic tracks. It was recorded spring 07' as were the rest of these tunes.
Moment Of Truth is one of my more recent lyric projects. The music was written and performed by Robbie Gay, former lead guitarist with Johnny Van Zant, who now fronts Lynard Skynard. The lyrics and performance are dedicated to the memory of Bill Akridge piano player extrodinaire and great friend to all of us involved in this project. Bill passed February 07'. we all miss him greatly.
I uploaded some live covers from the Beaugators. It's the usual suspects plus on lead Mr. David Adkins, truley a legend in his and our own minds. David is just a huge talent and I'm proud to call him a partner in crime and a friend!
The producer of these tracks is Frank Tanton. I have a link to his page on my site. He has several different tracks we all worked on recently. Be sure to drop in om his page.

Influences:
One of the biggest influences on me came about when I was about six years old. At the time I was living with my parents and three sisters in Dogwood Acres in Johnson City, Tennessee. The neighbors next door to our house had a garage and they left the door to it open all the time. One day while in the garage I opened up the electrical fuse box and and accidentally electrocuted myself. Thank God it threw me across the garage and on to my dumb ass. Man what an event. I don't think I ever told anyone about it til this day. It's funny what kinds of things influence a person. That fuse box has been a large influence on me. To date I have not electrocuted myself since that first influential electrocution. I'm gonna' try never to do it again.
This was the influence that showed me that the coal fired steam driven guitars were a thing of the past and the new electric guitars were going to define the future.Later...
