THE STORY...
The story of Rope Too Tight really began during the fall in 2006 when Mikko "Mettis" joined the band. Forming members, guitarrists and songwriters, Sami and Pasi got Pasi's brother Jari "the Wes Borland lookalike" on the bass. They were also searching for a new singer after many years of testing several candidates with their former projects. Some weeks after Mikko had joined the band Jaska took his chances with the mic and after a few training sessions he was chosen to be the lead vocalist of Rope Too Tight.
After getting to know each other the band started to rehearse intensively together and after fine-tuning some great songs Rope Too Tight was proud to climb on the stage in Salo, Maksim Bar 20.4.2007. The crowd was very pleased in RTT's show and some people just couldn't believe it was RTT's first gig playing together. This was just the Beginning...
After a couple of gigs the band started to record their first demo in their rehearsal room in Gonala, Helsinki. We decided not to go record it in a studio purely because we wanted some recording experience "at home" before we go to a proper studio so that we won't make fools out of ourselves there. Fortunately, the home made demo sounded pretty ok. Still, the next demo will be recorded in a proper studio.
Rope Too Tight, or RTT, is known for their catchy but not so straightforward songs and beautiful and sometimes pretty moody melodies. The band adds a mix of ass-kicking and techical riffs to those melodies and never lets its listener to loose interest in their song. Just when you think you know what to expect next, we lead you to a whole different direction...
- Thou shall not let the rope loosen too much; in a matter of fact you should tighten it every once in a while... you know, just for precautions..
