My name Is Conn Y Johansson. I was born on the 6: th of February 1983 in a city called Lund (skåne/Sweden).I started to play drums when I was about five years old (88). My first set of drums was a toy drum kit witch I destroyed quite fast by “accident”. My playing became serious in 97, when I got my first real drum kit. That set was for beginners and I played it like two times, and then I got bored with it so I put it away. I didn’t buy a new one until 2003, and until then I played on a borrowed drum kit. My playing has developed by listening to other bands and the only drum teacher I’ve ever had is my stereo. I would like to describe my way of playing as a mix of thrash and heavy metal, the two genres I admire the most. Lately I’ve been very inspired by Dream Theatre’s drummer Mike Portnoy, Death/Control Denied’s drummer Richard Christy and Judas Priest’s drummer Scott Travis, to name just a few. I started my first band with Christofer Norrman in 1997, a band called Santure. We played together for five years and then we split up. The music of Santure was a blend of death and thrash metal, we wrote all of our songs ourselves and when we played covers, we played Sepultura or “older” Metallica songs. We recorded a few songs and got popular among friends and others who heard us, sad enough that was not many people.My hobby/work is veritate but when I’m not thinking or working with veritate, I like motor sports, horror movies from the 80’s and of course discover new bands.I don’t have a goal for the future of veritate; I think its better that way because I can’t get disappointed, only surprised in a good way.We’ll just have to wait and see what the future holds for the band and me.
