Last August 2006, something magical took place in Belsize Village
Square: crowds of people, young and old came together beneath a
perfect summer sky to enjoy an eclectic and high quality afternoon of
live music, courtesy of local promoter Rocco Buonvino and his
co-organisers.
Such was the success of the first Festival that Rocco has been
inundated with praise and requests to repeat the event. Not one to
let down the community, Rocco is currently organising the next event,
in association with co-organisers David Stark (of SongLink magazine)
and promoter Jen Roberts (founder of Behind The Mic), plus local
supporters the Ham & High, Camden Councillor Arthur Graves and other
festival partners. In addition, the festival is kindly being
sponsored by Goldschmidt & Howland.
On Bank Holiday May 28th, local residents will enjoy another
wonderful Belsize Village Festival. Continuing with the same high
calibre of entertainment, the musical line-up will give local talent
and even international mega-stars an opportunity to perform live on
stage before our local community. It promises to be another afternoon
to shine in the history of Belsize village, as well as raising
much-appreciated funds for Marie Curie Cancer Care, based in nearby
Lyndhurst Gardens.
