Fresh! is a concept by Tim de Meulenaere (Sitio Mio) and Dries Franceus (Drazz) with Ghent as home base. They had been organizing parties for a while when in 2003 they launched a new concept under the name Fresh !. Soon they found some friends willing to engage in the organisation as well and also Wouter De Pauw and Lore Cuypers joined the Fresh! Crew. A Fresh! event introduces less commercial dance music to the contemporary youth. Especially warm house music with influences of Bossa, Salsa, Disco and more sensitive underground beats as funky tech-house and occasionally minimal.

The first edition was held at their home-base: youth-club Maegher Goet in Oostakker where they introduced the local youngsters to their enchanting sounds.

Soon after they found the perfect underground location in the Ghent harbour : a small venue in glass between the docks, creates the perfect atmosphere: you can see the industry lights at night and the sun come up in the morning. They also put a lot of time and effort in stylish decorations and a well stocked bar with very economical prices ( 25 € for a bottle of Fresh bubbles ! ). There they also invited their first international guest with DJ Mes from San Francisco.

One of the the goals of the concept to encourage and support young talents in developing their unique artistic style before a truly house loving audience was not forgotten and also names as Benn, Cédric De Pauw, Jensen & Bugsy, Victor Samos,… got the chance to play on Fresh! They even launched a second smaller concept at the Montuno’s bar in Ghent called Crème Fresh! where young talent got even more opportunities to play. Fresh! also invited the better Belgian & sometimes international guests and had dj's as Filiz, Smos & Baby Bee, Jan Van Biesen, Smith Davis, St. Dic (RIP!), Prinz, Josh Lasden and many others play for them ! In that way the concept was taken to an unknown artistic level.

And also in Fresh! there are minimal lovers, which is why they created an extra minimal room where they invited people like Seba Lecompte and Fader.

After loosing their venue in the spring of 2006, they returned stronger than ever in two rooms of Ghent’s famous Culture Club. After three editions they invited Jay Tripwire, Johan & Cimaï, Chris Dee, Smith davis, Jacky Mickx.. Minimal dj's Were Adultnapper, Seba Lecompte, Igor, Jens Holmes..

After those three great Culture Club nights, we decided to go back underground. The best place to do so, is the best underground club in Belgium, Decadance.
There was a great atmosphere by our amazing crowd and big names like Inland Knights, Da Sunlounge, Kinky Movement,.. Fresh! talents like Smith Davis, Ricardo, Jensen, Pierre de la riviere,.. and ofcourse the residents Drazz and Sitio Mio.
