MAURA KINCAID TAKE FINAL Q MAG GLASTO COMP PLACE

The last place in our Glastonbury Emerging Talent Competition has gone to Brighton-based band Maura Kincaid who won our people's vote. The quintet now join the 11 other finalists - already chosen by our judging panel - who will take part in a live play-off before our esteemed experts. Maura Kincaid (pron: More-ah kin-kayd), were formed in Worthing, East Sussex, swiped their name from a Chuck Palahniuk novel. They say: "We want to fill the skies over Glastonbury with a sound so spectacular that the cows levitate overhead and the earth dries beneath you're very feet."
efestivals.co.uk (Scott Williams)
"...they're my band of the night, and I'm not surprised they got the public vote!"
THE FLY
"...new demos and photo shoots have surfaced, hopefully meaning that the epic and well-honed quintet will come out of their lair"
Maura Kincaid {pron: more-ah kin-kayd} - are a 5 piece from Worthing / Brighton. The name is lifted from a Chuck Palahniuk novel. The band were selected by Emily Eavis and Martin Elbourne to face the Q Magazine Glastonbury New Emerging Talent public vote, which they won with nearly 1000 votes and subsequently performed to a very positive industry panel at the ETC final. They have supported The Fall, Graham Coxon, Trail Of Dead and this year they have been booked to perform on The Queens Head stage at Glastonbury 09.
