Tony Mandez is one of the most versatile, reliable, dedicated and most respected DJ currently working on the wedding and club circuit. He has a unique style and professional approach to his work; He is exclusive due to his ability to play a variety and genres of music to suit any occasion, club or venue. Tony’s music is extensive and varied he has accumulated a huge music collection which he takes to most events.

At the youthful age of 15 Tony wanted to become the first Asian DJ. It all started after listening to DJ Emperor Rosko and KKJ on the radio. He began to express an interest in music for the first time and wanted to be a radio DJ. This was soon to be the beginning of his DJ career.

Tony started out as a ‘roadie’ He had this sparkling vigor and a great love for music and technology. In the months to come, Tony set up his first mobile disco with a friend. This was a huge success, and in a couple of years became one of the most sort-after mobile discotheques in town. This rapidly progressed and he started working a variety of night clubs, bars, and private parties. These diverse events have given him the ability to read audiences, and choose the correct music to suit the occasion.

After gaining valuable experience doing mobile discos from a young age, he moved on to providing high class mobile discos for military and police functions, and large corporate events, plus numerous residencies. The demand for his show was soaring, and he was finding his diary booked up to two years in advance. Tony says “These were the years when play turned into work, and I felt truly part of the music industry. I was finally getting paid for doing what I loved best, and inspired me to tackle a few things I never thought I would do.”

The late Pritpal Jhuti of Roma music bank records gave Tony an opportunity to fulfil one of his desires, He was asked to take on the next bhangra project, to remix the second album in the death jamm series. So Tony teamed up with Viv and Slm, as Funky Productions and produced “Death Jamm II”. The album soon topped the charts across the UK and abroad.

Tony’s personality and DJ skills paid off when he was nominated as “the golden voice of the midlands” by presenters and listeners of the BBC Aaj kal show, followed by countless other awards including “Favourite club DJ” at the 1995 U.K. Asian pop and dance awards. His speaking style was a big sensation and landed him his first radio job at Coventry’s Radio Harmony for four years, and after that nearly five years presenting the “The late night show” on the BBC Asian Network at pebble mill. During those years Tony worked with many big name actors, singers, live bands and many other entertainment acts.

Tony Mandez with his lucid speaking voice has excelled at providing impressive discos and demonstrated to be an excellent personality DJ who has frequent repeat bookings from many clients. And has worked many Bars and clubs across the UK and abroad. He has held many residencies and is the first Asian Bhangra and Reggae DJ in the midlands. He has made many special guest appearances at major organised events. And regularly performs at weddings and occasions of the business elite.

Tony has built up a strong DJ reputation and respect across many towns and cities. He has inspired many new DJ’s to join the entertainment industry, And now armed with a wealth of experience, Tony works along-side the exuberance and many talents of Brothers Neel Mandez and Sunny Mandez, who share his passion and admiration for this exciting industry. They have gained a vast amount of experience over the years working with Tony and the diverse age range of clients to date, and can play to any crowd.
