About Me
This is the official MySpace page of the Missoula Mud Dogs Under-19 rugby team of Missoula, Montana. The website for our league is montanayouthrugby.org . I checked it out and it's actually a pretty cool site with tons of information, game recaps, and even some pics. This MySpace is a work in progress, so, any suggestions or corrections are greatly appreciated. Thank you. We are going into our second year as a club. The three opponents in our state at this point are the Drummond Trojans, who started when we did (last year), Frenchtown Iron Horse Rugby, who broke away from us (so this is their first year) and the Simms Tigers, who have been going for six years now (if I'm wrong on this, let me know guys). This year we face many challenges with new players, needing to fundraise, and people with busy schedules, but we are very optimistic. To join the Mud Dogs, Missoula area high-schoolers need only fill out a liability waiver, and pay a $25 fee for socks and shorts (if you don't have some from last year), and a $25 USA Rugby fee. For a fundraiser and raising awareness, we sell t-shirts with our logo and a design, available in 2 colors, hats with our colors and logo, and womens' tank tops with our logo. If you're interested in purchasing any of these, please talk to any player.
The Mud Dogs are also blessed with great expertise of our coaching staff. Our coaches and helpers are all present or former Missoula Maggots semi-pro rugby players. Our head coach, and backs specialist, is Jake Kreilick. Russ Cherry is the assistant coach, as well as forwards specialist. "Skid" and "Psycho" Wolfermann have also helped us out a ton.
Sorry, everyone, I know this site might not be perfect, but hey, I try. For any updates, please tell me. Thanks. -Management.
Last season we ended winless with one tie against Drummond. However, we played very well and improved immensely during the season. Our record does NOT represent how we played. Our games were well-played and very close including many last second-losses. This year we got off to a rough start with a rather handily loss to a very tough Drummond squad. We have a lot to work on, and hopefully will learn a lot from our game, but also did a lot of things well. Congrats to Drummond, and keep working hard, Mud Dogs. Upcoming games are Frenchtown @ home, Simms @ home, Frenchtown away, Pocatello tournament @ Pocatello, Simms Round Robin @ Simms, Maggotfest (State Championship) @ home, and if we win that a Pacific Northwest tourney in Spokane. For more details, just ask.
