ANANTA

ANANTA -- A classically trained violinist and cellist has practiced the meditation of music for 30 years. In 1988, she won 1st chair of her section in the Nevada All-State Orchestral competition. At the age of 15, she played professionally with her maestro in: Auburn Civic and American River College Symphonies. In college, she played with the U.C. Davis Symphony. Her repertoire includes a classical foundation rounded by soul, jazz, hip-hop, rock, celtic, middle eastern and indian classical styles.ANANTA’s career expanded internationally when she started a music program for children at CED International in Dehradun, India. While there, she both taught and played music throughout Northwestern India. In 2002, she started 2 music programs at Napa Valley & Woodland Star Charter Schools in Napa & Sonoma, CA.She frequents the San Francisco Bay Area, Seattle, Portland, Eugene and Los Angeles music scenes as a solo artist and with various bands & artists such as Kaki-King, Jaya Lakshmi, Geoffrey Gordon, Andy Graham, The Mountain Goats, Daniel Paul, Manose, Joanne Rand, Mystic Family Circus, Land of the Blind, Hoytus Rolen and The Druid Sister’s Tea Party.ANANTA has flittered about various festival stages, college stages, yoga studios, cafes and street corners throughout the world including Harmony Festival, Earth Dance, S.F. Earth Day Celebration, Whole Earth Festival, SFSU Spring Concert Series, Center for Spiritual Living, Santa Rosa, CA. ____________________________________________________________ ______________ Currently, ANANTA is very proud to be cellist and sometimes co-fiddler with the East Coast Kids!!!!Other projects, featured violin soloist on Jaya Lakshmi's 'Sublime' album, 2008 Sequoia Records; violin soloist on Swami Vishwananda's 'Love Beyond Words 2' album, 2008 Geoffrey Gordon; violin & electric violin soloist on Hoytus Rolen's album 'Hoytus', 2008 Jane Clark; violin, cello, electric violin soloist on Gina Marie Lo Monaco’s ‘A Girl Named India’, 2008.
