The latest sensation to emerge from the City of Compton is the teen R&B group, 4 of a Kind. These guys are crooners - not rappers. Complete capable entertainers - not limited to one talent. This means they dance, write, sing, and recite poetry. Growing up in the inner city proved to be a blessing in disguise for B.J., Bon-Bon, J-Fiano and Devan. Their determination to stay focused and overcome their surroundings created an unbreakable bond between the four 18-years olds. Young, talented and driven, they formed a pact to not fall prey to their environment but instead set a course to help change the world of music. With an R&B/POP feel, their music is sultry, soulful, melodic, sexy and energetic which has been self-branded as “Youdee Music” by these young, passionate singers. “Youdee Music” is defined as ‘booty music for the youngsters’. Only a group with true confidence can label their own music in a new genre - and this is that confident group. But it’s all in fun as they look towards tagging more catch-phrases which emphasize their creativity with their music.B.J., an Aries, describes himself as comical, outgoing and focused. The Scorpio, J-Fiano, asserts to being understanding, smooth and witty. Devan, the Leo, uses his vibrant and upbeat personality to stay grounded. Gemini, Bon-Bon, admits he’s outspoken and simply “fine”…a true Gemini. 4 of a Kind are extremely committed to their work, and their mission to succeed comes first. And it didn’t take long for Big Vee to put his reputation behind the newly formed 4 of a Kind. B.J., Bon-Bon, J-Fiano and Devan all look forward to success and being able to give back to their communities and families, with J-Fiano having a special interest in an asthma foundation. With influences none other than Michael Jackson, Boyz II Men, and New Edition, the new wave of R&B is ready to reign through their fresh voices.
