How I made my profile:
I used Dave & Jay's amazing myspace profile editor .The Brazilian singer and songwriter Myléne, in her second album called “Não muito distanteâ€, reinterprets Madredeus songs through a Brazilian rhythmic diversity point of view.The list of beautiful songs – that cover almost all of the phases the group has gone through -, so Portuguese in it’s essence, in the intimate, close and elegant voice of Myléne, transforms itself into African chants, Indian sorrows, and “modinhas†on the house, sounds that, throughout the years, came to form the so called “Música Popular Brasileiraâ€, the gathering of the “ginga†of the three Brazilian races, the Negroes, the Indians and the Portuguese, so different among themselves, in an unique sonority in the World.It’s a fascinating universe, where the listener looses himself in the search of where Portugal begins and ends, where Brazil merges, and how the both of them complete themselves.Its was like if these songs where written on a “bossa nova†afternoon, accompanied by the sound of the Copacabana or Ipanema sea, or by Rio de Janeiro’s “favela†“sambistas†in the distant 30s, or by the “lavadeiras†who sing in the religious “novenas†of Northeast Brazil, or by the Negroes in the “senzalas†when they claimed their freedom to the “orixásâ€, or even by the people that march in choir in the festive “passarelas†of the Carnival.Make a SlideShow at MyWackoSpace.com ..
