Il s'agit bel et bien d'un trio, un vrai. Ils le revendiquent, et le font entendre...
Un son plein, travaillé... à trois, à haut régime.
La pêche, façon énergie partagée et donc démultipliée.Les schémas rythmiques relèvent de la précision. Les développements jaillissent en instantané. L'interaction fonctionne à plein. On pense à Happy Apple ou The Bad Plus, et l'enregistrement donne envie d'écouter-voir en prolongement "on stage".
De l'expression naturelle, pas de la démonstration, à partir de tracés instrumentaux qui s'épaulent et toujours se soutiennent. Les deux standardissimes revisités (Anthropology, Girl from Ipanema) s'en trouvent revitalisés, regonflés tel un spinaker. Bon vent.

It is the story of a trio, a genuine one.
One full sound, worked out by three musicians on a high. Their punch is increased by their sheer shared energy. Rhythmic patterns executed with a clinical precision develop into elaborated improvisations.
Interaction is the key. Happy Apple and Bad Plus comes to mind and the Trias' recording gives you the urge to see/listen to them live, on stage.
Trias has a very natural way of expressing their musical ideas and does not resort to already-made and prefabricated musical schemes.
The ever so famous standards, 'The Girl From Ipanema' and 'Anthropology' have been refreshed and revitalised, blown in the wind like a spinnaker. So long! Have a good trip!
