TO MY GRANDMA 1931-2005...grandma…if I could pick stars out of the sky, look to the lord and ask him why? he blessed me…he gave me you…he gave me moms and he gave me family…he gave me unconditional love…he gave me home cooked meals that filled my belly (sometimes a little too much), homemade syrup, lemonade, pies and cakes…i remember…a path to follow, a strong back for those hard times, cause grandma you know times can get hard, i admire your strength, beauty and devotion…prayed three times a day to keep things smooth, thought my life was ridin on oceans…but now the sun is setting and all i hear is the sound of the wind that russell the leaves, the brightest star in the sky…GRANDMA you see me? i love you grandma…the braided switches that kept us in line, the pranks we played, the bible verse lines, it seemed like we were in church forever, because of you we have god in our hearts, your lessons and stories kept us together…a strong Black Cherokee Queen, my everything…now you're flyin high sights unseen…i know you fought hard to keep us so close, your legacy lives on…cheers grandma…here’s to a heavenly toast....-RIP
