About Me

'A strong EP from an incredibly talented young artist' 9/10 www.thedeadwire.co.uk
'This is one demo well worth owning, and im happy to own it!' Panic Magazine
'An amazing voice and songwriter.' Safe Concerts (MNM)
Since releasing the debut self titled TheyObey cd, i have toured, done radio interviews and had some glowing reviews in various music publications and websites. But the last month or so i have been in the studio writing and recording The new TheyObey e.p. 'BUILD THE CITIES, BURN THE SKY' which will be available soon.
I feel it is my most honest work yet and unlike the last e.p. where i had just written some acoustic stuff not knowing how popular is was going to turn out and that i would end up touring it, alot of thought, effort and immense emotion has been poured into these songs. Im very excited about putting the new stuff out there and although it may be a bit of a change to the debut e.p., 'BUILD THE CITIES, BURN THE SKY' is me stripped down and at my most exposed.
I look forward to you hearing it!!!!!!
Anyways, i'm Jack Fox , I am TheyObey. A one man band or solo artist, whatever you want to call it. You may also know me as the front man and guitarist of Essex post hardcore, alternative band =CLIMBER= (myspace.com/soundsofclimber for more info.)
Being mostly into heavier music I wanted to bring out music that fans of heavier music could listen to, maybe when they wanted a break from the heaviness but could still appreciate the lyrics and songwrtiting. Being in a fairly heavy band myself, I like listening to acoustic music that still has the principles of heavy music and could easy transpose to a heavy song. This is pretty much what I do as most of the original Climber songs were written on an acoustic. Exept this time with 'They Obey' they stayed this way!
