FIGHT ALASKA'S DFG!!! FIGHT SARAH PALIN!!!

Save Alaska's wildlife from the state's despotic department of fish and game!

About Me

For years, the people in Alaska's Department of Fish and Game and the trophy hunting crowd they represent and fully support have raped and slaughtered Alaska's natural wonders, shocking much of the rest of the country and bringing disgust to most outsiders with the way they regard and treat their wildlife... to them it has no inherent ethical value and is only valued by them as a material resource, much like coal or oil, good for nothing but to be "harvested" by humans for personal gain. The Alaska DFG and many other Alaskans seem to be living and thinking in the last century, and thumb their nose at the modern decency of the rest of the civilized world when others protest against their despicable cruel and destructive practices.
In the past few years Alaska has massacred thousands of its wolves, a treasured wild animal most other states no longer even have, by shooting them from airplanes, just because they think the wolves are killing too many moose that the trophy hunters want for themselves.
The Alaska board of Game also have no respect for the magnificent grizzly, a symbol of all of nature's majesty and power in America, which most other states would be grateful to still have roaming their despoiled wilds, is bartered and sold out by Alaska for any sadistic trophy hunter, even if they are harvested in areas were the bears were previously so well protected and accustoemd to people they have no fear of humans, creating a hunting experience akin to shooting your neighbor's dog. In areas such as Mcneil where bears are normally protected the Alaska Board of Game has repeatedly tried to lift the protections and let in trophy hunters.
...Even now, when protests have rung out from all over the world for many years against their atrocious methods of wildlife "management", they now want to sanction a leave-none-alive show-no-mercy massacre hunt this summer near Anchorage that will allow hunters to use just about any hunting method or weapon, no matter how cruel, cowardly, or shameful, and will be allowed to kill even mothers with cubs in order to decimate as many of the bears as they can in that area for the same reason as the wolf massacres, because they think the bears eat too many moose for their survival that hunters want instead for their trophy rooms.
Alaska's DFG MUST be forced to change its ways. They cannot ignore or sneer at the rest of the civilized world forever. Alaskans need to realize just how despicable they are and be brought to account for their actions. They must learn to advance towards embracing a modern ethical system of values, to modernly manage and conserve their magnificent natural wonders for its own sake, not for what avaricious humans can gain from its exploitation and destruction.
We must fight their atrocious backwards and anachnonistic mentality of treating nature and wildlife as limitlessly exploitable commodities. Please join us in our efforts to make Alaska pay.

PLEASE SIGN PETITION HERE
We, the Undersigned, endorse the following petition: Prevent cruelty to Black Bears in Alaska URGENT! Target: Mr Denby S. Lloyd, Commisioner, Department of Fish and Game, Alaska Sponsor: Grace Penlain* Goal: 2,000 * Deadline: 6-17-2007* See Full Petition * Email this PetitionThis petition is to the Department of Fish & Game in Alaska. As part of their severely criticised Aerial Wolf-Kill program, they are now planning to kill 900-1400 Black Bears by any means necessary. A department official has been quoted as saying that the hunt, which will open on July 1 is "an attempt to take as many black bears as possible. Guns, bows and bait, whatever they want" and also that "fair chase and hunting ethics don't apply." This includes sows and cubs. The reasoning behind this hunt is that the black bears are to blame for the low number of Moose in the region, and that the only way to bring Moose numbers up is to kill off a huge number of the bears in the area.Questions have been raised about the science behind this hunt, its inclusion in the highly criticised aerial wolf-kill program, its cruelty, and its practicality. More than one hunt group has already said that they do not support it, and there has been widespread doubt that the plans will actually achieve the desired result. Therefore they are encouraging cruelty for no reason. We are asking the Department of Fish and Game to reconsider the planned hunt. The hunt is due to begin on July 1; we need your signatures now!Thank you!

I'd like to meet:

A decent-hearted, compassionate, considerate and ethically-minded Alaska DFG "greencoat" who cares deeply about the life and well-being of each and every individual wild animal as well as the health and stability of the entire ecosystem for its own natural sake, not for its resourceful value to humans
